La Rouge

We hear how La Rouge, a form of pole dance and aerial classes, is not only a newer option of physical activity but mostly a place for women to express themselves without judgement.

There is an incredible transformation that takes place when women come together in a supportive and empowering environment where they can explore their bodies and express themselves freely without judgment or shame. As the owner and instructor of La Rouge for over 15 years, I have had the privilege of witnessing this first-hand.

Women walk through our doors with a sense of hesitation or even fear, unsure of what to expect. But as they immerse themselves in the world of pole dance and aerial classes, they begin to blossom and thrive.

Connect with innermost feelings

Dance and movement aren’t just physical activities but also a way to connect with your emotions, thoughts, and innermost feelings. A place where you can express your vulnerabilities and connect with your body in a way that allows you to feel energised, confident, and vibrant. It’s truly inspiring to see women push past their physical and emotional limits, conquering their fears and discovering strengths they never knew they had. The sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from mastering a new pole dance trick or aerial manoeuvre is palpable in the studio.

Sisterhood

But it’s not just the physical and emotional transformation that is so remarkable. With La Rouge, women forge deep connections with each another, forming a sisterhood that extends beyond the studio walls. Seeing women support and encourage each other, lift each other up, and celebrate each other’s successes is a testament to the power of community.

Reminder of deep strength within

Over the years we have welcomed many ladies who have silently fought their battles against cancer and other terminal diseases, overwhelmed by the daunting challenges ahead, struggling to find ways to cope and keep going. Our studio has become a safe haven for them, a place where they can connect with their inner selves, release any pent-up emotions or traumas, and where they can find comfort and a whole lot of cheers. Through each pole or aerial movement they conquer, they remind themselves of their deep strength and their fight to overcome any obstacle they may face.

The sense of relief and joy on their faces is vivid as they attend our fun classes, knowing that they aren’t alone. Each dance step and rhythm they learn helps them let go of things they can’t control and surrender to the joys of movement, dance, and self-expression.

Heal, grow and thrive

It’s truly humbling to be a part of their journey and to see the power of dance and movement in their lives. I’m grateful to be able to provide a space for these amazing women to heal, grow, and thrive.

The bravery, resilience, and strength of the women who walk through our doors is so inspiring. They remind me every day of the importance of creating spaces where women can come together to lift each other up and push each other forward.

At La Rouge, we aren’t just teaching pole dance and aerial classes, we are empowering women to discover their strength, resilience, and sense of community. We believe that dance and movement are powerful tools for self-discovery and transformation, and we are committed to helping women unlock their full potential through these practices.

Every woman has a unique voice and story to tell, and we want to empower them to share their truth and live their lives to the fullest.

Although La Rouge offers a safe and healing space, we always recommend that you consult your doctor before trying something new.
