Dr Cindy Aitton, Netcare’s managing director of Cancer Care, advocates to keep your radiotherapy notes safe on the Netcare App, because your health journey matters.
Once your course of radiotherapy is complete, holding onto your Summary of Care and post-treatment care notes becomes crucial.
Dr Cindy Aitton, Netcare’s managing director of Cancer Care, emphasises just how significant these records are. “Finishing a course of radiotherapy treatment marks a major milestone. And because treatment is becoming increasingly personalised, your records are valuable and have clinical significance for the doctors you will consult in future,” Dr Aitton says.
To make it as convenient and easy as possible to keep track of for years to come, the Netcare App now provides access to your radiotherapy Summary of Care and other important information directly in your personal profile.
Dr Aitton explains, “With your personal electronic medical records of radiotherapy treatment all in one place, you can easily refer to your doctor’s advice for follow-up care and any past treatments relevant to your health needs. You can also share this information with your healthcare team at your discretion for continuity of care across multiple healthcare professionals.”
You can download the Netcare App for free from the Netcare website or by scanning the QR code. In addition to the radiotherapy care records, the app also helps you book appointments, consult with GPs online, manage pre-admissions and hospital admissions, or call for emergency medical response if needed.
“This is just one way we are using technology to make cancer care and recovery smoother and more personal. Ultimately, it’s about giving you the tools to feel empowered and supported throughout your journey,” Dr Aitton says.
