Sept/Oct 2020 – I am strong enough

There is nothing more upbeat than listening to good music. Hans Christian Andersen wrote “Where words fail; music speaks.”

2020 has flown by and I know there will be Better days (OneRepublic). It’s October already; many are pleased as Girls just want to have fun (Cyndi Lauper).

I came across a playlist from a cancer patient website and thought that is a great idea. Why not make a playlist to send to a friend and inspire her?

Here is my dedicated playlist for the ladies to celebrate October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Start with Scars to Your Beautiful (Alessia Cara) and Girl on Fire or Superwoman (Alicia Keys).

Our Super Survivors remind me of the song Roar (Katy Perry): “Now I’m floating like a butterfly, Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes, I went from zero, to my own hero.”

Fight Song (Rachel Platten) is definitely for our On The Chemo Couch hero who managed COVID and cancer: “I still have a lot of fight left in me.” Then for screening in COVID times, No Excuses (Meghan Trainor).”

So, celebrate spring and October with a song: Man! I feel like a woman (Shania Twain) or Respect (Aretha Franklin).

Thank you to all the artists that have written songs to inspire our buddies along their journey.
