Word for Word Media (WFWM), the publishers of Buddies For Life and Oncology Buddies, celebrated their 10^th anniversary at African Pride Mount Grace Country House and Spa in Magaliesburg. The WFWM team and Louise Turner, COO of Breast Health Foundation and breast cancer survivor, were treated to a day of pampering, bubbly and much needed time-out.

An indulgent day

The morning started off with much excitement, while we left the hustle and bustle of the city behind us to drive into the calming countryside, knowing what was instore for us. We were welcomed with coffee and muffins then changed into our costumes and splashed around in the array of pools. It seems the floatation tank was a firm favourite. Though, the outdoor jacuzzi is magnificent, and the scenic rock pools soothe the mind instantaneously.

Our spoils included a full-body heated stone massage, which hit just the rights spots; a spa scalp massage; and the choice of either a pampering classic   spa manicure or pedicure. And, with spring gracing us with her spectacular presence, who doesn’t want pretty toes? The beauty therapists were kind, exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

The team then celebrated with the popping of champagne and raised their glasses to the next 10 years of publishing. Much chatter took place over lunch, with Sam and Nelson, the restaurant’s staff, seeing to our every need.

After lunch, more time in the floatation pool was needed, and the steam room was tested before we showered and, sadly, had to depart  back to reality.
